Fashion: SS 2013 Trends

Opposed.

   Hello dolls,

Many of you probably know that one of this spring and summer's big trend is going to be (drumroll) black and white and geometric shapes. Here we got designers inpired by Harlequin pattering, squares and other geometric shapes, some of them even create illusions and reinvent shapes for our own interest.

Louis Vuitton

This season, Marc Jacob for Vuitton build his collection around damier motifs, creating a geometric visual ambience. To intensify this appearance on the catwalk, the floor was also squared. Moreover, the model walked in pairs, had the same hair colour and the same hairstyle, which gave a symetric and organised atmoshere to the show, and since the floor was reflective, there also was a horizontal symetry.
In this collection, all lenght were used (mini, midi, maxi), as well as many different silhouettes (dresses, trousers, shorts, skirts) , however, those squares were redundant and appeared in every outfits. This quadrilateral shape is also depicted in accessories, shuch as handbags, as shown on the picture.
I admit that I am not a Vuitton lover, however I found this collection very 'smart' and inspiring, and the Paris catwalk was stunning with those amazing escalators (see a picure here.).

Balmain

Geometric shapes are also depicted in Blalmain this season. Olivier Rousteing represented this vibe with the Harlequin pattern and some delicate stripes at some places. The young but bright designer inspire his collection from the early 90's, while most of the other collections got their inspiration from earlier in the fashion history.
A very sublime idea used several times in those silhouettes really catch my eyes, are those 'braided raffia'. I also loved how he depicted stripes using see-through fabric. It gives a really delicate aspect to the collection.

Marc Jacob

A final example is another one signed by Marc Jacob (sorry about that). The vibe that emerges from this collection is very powerful. He played on our optic and created illusions by imposing heavy contrast and illusional shapes and lines. As described by Vogue, 'Jacob reinvents the female form'; if we look at the first and last silouhettes on the picture, we do have an illusion of thiner waist and wider hips!

Catch you later! Imi xx

Hi! Those are some outfits I wore last week and I thought I could share.

Worn with a "spikey" silver necklace and black vintage combat boots.

 Day # 4.
Glittery Jumper: Zara     Shiny Leggings: Zara   Scarf: Made by friend

Worn with ankled boots (with a block heel) and a bomber jacket.

 Day # 6.
V neck Jumper: Vintage    Body: Primark   Skirt:  Made by me (same in H&M)

Beauty: Lush-icious

Lushicious.

Lush Massage Butter: £4.95/50g     Lush Hair Mask: £8.95/225g

 Bonjour, bonsoir!

I went to Lush a couples weeks ago and bought several products. Here is a review on the "H'Suan Wen Hua" hair mask and the "From Dust 'Til Dawn" massage bar.

The massage bar, whose name is very nice, is from the new Valentine collection. As all Lush body butters/massage bars, you just heat the product with your hands and then just gently massage your skin with it.
This one has lemon, orange, gingseng root and guarana extract, it therefore leaves on your skin a nice strong agrum sent which stays all day. Another plus with "From Dust 'Til Dawn" is the hydration you get. It has a large range of different oils and butters (cocoa butter, shea butter, orange oil, lemon oil and illipe butter) which are famous for their hydration power.
However, you might prefer to apply this before going to bed or so, just because it is quite greasy.
Its shape is quite convenient because its top part is pointed and allows us to massage our articulations (and our back if you have someone to massage you ;) ). The bottom part is larger and it is handy to massage arms or legs.
Finally, it is a vegan product which is quite nice!

The H'Suan Wen Hua hair mask is really good. You apply this on dry hair (when your hair absord the most), leave it for about 20minutes and then wash your hair like you normally do! The products contains avocado, rosemary oil and olive oil, good for hydration, and fresh eggs which will leave your hair very shiny.
Compare to other cheaper and artificial hair mask, it does not have silicone. Hair mask with too much silicone aren't good for your hair, in fact, it dries your hair. What it does is that, at first your hair will feel soft and will look shiny, but, at the end of the week, it will be dry and you will use the product again to make your hair soft and shiny (a visious commercial technique!).
H'Suan Wen Hua will not do that. I really like this product, my hair looks much healthier than it looked before. The only bad thing I could say is that you need to apply a very generous amount (until your hair are completely wet) for it to really work and so I empty 2/3 of the pot each time I use it.
A little advice I could give (of course it is not an obligation) is to put the product in the fridge. It feels very nice and relaxing when you apply the product on your head!

Sales: Tips!

Tips for sales addicts.

We all feel a little sad because Christmas and New year are gone, vaccations are ending and school or work is starting again.  Luckily, sales are here.  I always told myself that the January sales were created to make us feel better after the "festive weeks"!

Sales means many thing will be 20%, 30%, 50% off, so everything will be a bargain. However it also means that shopping mall or streets will be overcrowded!
Here are some tips that could help during the sales, to save time and make shopping easier:

  1.  Clothing.

    As shops are overcrowded
and queues endless, you won't probably have the courage to try something in the changing room, or if you want to try shoes, have somewhere to sit to try them on.  An advice would be to wear shoes that are easy to take off and on and to avoid trainers or laced shoes. Another good tip is to wear a simple tank top with, maybe, a jumper over itThis way, you can remove your jumper and try any shirt over the tank top without the need to do the queues.
  2.  Confort.

You will probably stand up the majority of the shopping trip, so it is better to wear confy shoes instead of high heel stilettos (of course if you feel confortable in those you can!). In a overcrowded shops, it is very hot.  So an advice would be not to wear a winter coat in which you will be sweatyI believe a winter jumper should be enough.

That is the advices I can give you and if you have any other ones, you can leave them as a comment.
And for those who don't like crowd and queues, you can still shop online and make some great deals!

Sales: Sephora

Sephora Colour pop-up store.

Hello ! Happy New Year!

For the holidays, my family and I went to France. I used this occasion (as always) to shopp at Sephora. And since it is nearly the sales, their were some interresting offers. I bought this "coffret" (case in english) for half the price, which means I got it for 19.90 € instead of 39.90, this was a bargain!

So this "coffret" has 64 waterproof eyeshadows, 12 cream eyeliners, 6 eyeshadows top coat, 6 lips top coat, 48 shiny lip colours, 6 multi-use cream, 3 blushes and 3 highlighters. It also has a mirror included and 3 little brushes (which I won't use because I prefer the one I already own).

This little box is perfect if you travel a lot and want one set of make up with many different products and colours. There is quite a lot of make up items in there which is quite handy.
I tested some of the products like the cream eyeliners. The negative point would be the colour intensity. I found them not masively pigmented and had to apply more. However, they do last a decent time!
I have really nothing to say about the eyeshadows. They are not the best eyeshadows I have tried but they are good, really. For the lipies, I found them nice to put over a lipstick and I like that there is a large range of colour. They are creamy and easy to apply. I haven't tried the other products yet but I will!

~~~~~~~~~Happy New Year and I wish you all a great year 2013!~~~~~~~~~
